William "Bill" Krumwiede Obituary

William J. Krumwiede, 88, affectionately known as Bill, passed away on January 6, 2025, in his beloved hometown of Sioux City, where he was born on April 5, 1936 to August and Marie (Krause) Krumwiede, where he joined his sister Patricia. He lived a life dedicated to service and family, leaving behind a legacy that will be cherished by many.

A private family memorial graveside service will be held in the Fairview Township Cemetery, Albaton, Iowa, with Pastor Craig Bock, officiating. Military Honors provided by the United States Navy and Smith-Rhodes American Legion Post #295 of Sloan, Iowa. Arrangements are under the direction of Goslar Funeral Home and Monuments, Onawa, Iowa.

Bill worked and had a fulfilling career, eventually retiring from Marian Health, where he was known for his commitment to both his work and the people he served. He then transitioned to proudly serve in the military, having enlisted in the navy. He was stationed aboard The Destroyer USS Hanson, an experience that shaped his character and instilled in him a deep sense of duty and camaraderie that would last throughout his life. 

As we remember William J. Krumwiede, we celebrate the values he embodied, his contributions to his community, and the love he shared with those around him. His legacy will endure in the hearts of his family and friends, a testament to a life well-lived.

Bill's life was enriched by his loving relationship with his wife, Darlene. Together, they built a home filled with warmth, laughter, and mutual respect. His dedication to his family was unwavering, and his presence will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Those left to cherish his precious memories alongside his wife Darlene are his brother-in-law, Charley Collison; nieces and nephews, Tom (Jackie) Hunter, Valerie (Allan) Wall, Patti (Tom) Marr, Russ Koeppen, Chuck, David, Jay Collison, Ron Merchant, Theresa (Jerry) Treinen, David, Gary, Kevin Miller, Nancy McClusky, and all other family members.

Special thanks to Tom Hunter, Steve Mousel, Don Van Zanten and Rob Powers who made difficult times a whole lot easier.
