Victor Abbott

Victor Ray Abbott ,74, of Onawa, Iowa, passed away Thursday, October 27, 2022 at Willis-Knighton Bossier Health Center, Bossier City, Louisiana, due to a sudden medical condition.

A private family service will be held. Arrangements are under the direction of Goslar Funeral Home and Monuments, Onawa, Iowa.

Victor Ray was born August 16, 1948 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa the son of Paul and Mae (Usher) Abbott. He graduated from Jefferson High School in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.  He was a union ironworker based out of Cedar Rapids, Iowa for many years. Victor owned and raced greyhound dogs for several years.

Victor loved the outdoors, and he especially enjoyed his passion for fishing. He was an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan and enjoyed their basketball, football, and wrestling teams. Victor loved spending time with all of his family. He always had a great sense of humor.

Survivors include his mother, Mae Erixon of Onawa, Iowa; one son, Jeff (Dana) Abbott of Anamosa, Iowa; grandchildren, Mason, Madyson, Alissa, Taylor, and Victoria; siblings, Paula Wilhelm of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, LaDonna (Scott) Orvis of Clive, Iowa, and Kathy (Richard) Hoffman of Ankeny, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his father, Paul V. Abbott; daughter, Angela Marti; and brother-in-law, Gary Wilhelm.
