Terry Leo Carson

Terry Leo Carson, 76, of Whiting, Iowa, formerly of Fort Dodge, Iowa, passed away Saturday, September 16, 2023, at MercyOne Siouxland Medical Center, Sioux City, Iowa, surrounded by his family.

Terry Leo Carson was born November 7, 1946, in Pensacola, Florida, the son of Leo and Helen (Soukup) Carson. He grew up in Ainsworth, Iowa and graduated from Highland Community High School with the class of 1965.  After high school, Terry continued his education at William Penn College and received his Teaching Degree.

He taught industrial arts for a few years. Terry worked in sales for many years.

Terry enjoyed golfing. He was an avid Hawkeyes and Chiefs fan. Terry enjoyed officiating for high school sports. He served on the Webster County Crime Stoppers Board in Fort Dodge, Iowa. Terry enjoyed being with his family and attending his grandchildren’s sporting events and activities.

Survivors include his wife, Renee Carson of Whiting, Iowa; children, Christine (Jason) Halverson of Onawa, Iowa, and Chad (Jennifer) Carson of Kansas City, Missouri; grandchildren, Cole and Addison Halverson of Onawa, Iowa, and Claire and Henry Carson of Kansas City, Missouri; brother, Jack (Sue) Carson of Galesburg, Illinois; and many other relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Helen (Soukup) Carson; sister, Carolyn Carson; and brothers, Tim Carson, and Tom Carson.

A visitation was 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. Wednesday, September 20, 2023, at the Goslar Funeral Home Chapel, Onawa, Iowa. A private family burial was held at a later date at Warren Township Cemetery, McCallsburg, Iowa. Arrangements were under the direction of Goslar Funeral Home and Monuments, Onawa, Iowa.
