Susan "Susie" Carrier

Susan “Susie” Corrine Carrier, 78, of Onawa, Iowa, passed away Monday, August 5, 2024, at Pleasant View Care Center, Whiting, Iowa.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, August 9, 2024, at Blencoe United Church of Christ in Blencoe, Iowa, with Pastor Linda Boggs, officiating. A private family burial will be held in the Graceland Cemetery, Blencoe, Iowa.

Susan Corrine was born March 16, 1946 to Robert and Frances (Lindley) Comfort, at Sloan’s Nursing Home in Onawa, Iowa. She grew up in Blencoe, Iowa attending Blencoe Consolidated School and later graduated from West Monona High School in 1964. She then attended Morningside College and Nettleton Commercial College.

Susie and Harry Carrier were united in marriage on October 29, 1967, in Blencoe, Iowa. Susie was a loving, supportive wife who moved from base to base as Harry’s Air Force career progressed. Her favorite time was when they were stationed in Germany. When Harry retired in 2009 they moved back to Blencoe, Iowa.

Susie is survived by her husband, Harry Carrier of Onawa, Iowa: her sister Tish Green (Richard) of La Quinta, CA, her nieces Julia Maycock of Salem, MA, Amanda Rousu (Matthew) of Selinsgrove, PA, and Therasa Webster (Ben) of Napa, CA, her nephew Randall Maycock (Karen) of San Francisco, and 6 grand nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Frances Comfort and her sister, Sally Maycock Voss (Howard).

A recording of the service will be posted on the Goslar Funeral Home website with Susie’s obituary.  Arrangements are under the direction of Goslar Funeral Home and Monuments in Onawa, Iowa.
