Solomon D. Gross, 69, of Whiting, Iowa passed away Monday, November 17, 2025 at Sibley Specialty Care, Sibley, Iowa.

Per Solomon’s wishes, cremation has been accorded. Private family services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Goslar Funeral Home and Monuments, Onawa, Iowa.

Solomon D. Gross was born December 2, 1955 in Tabor, South Dakota, the son of Daniel and Katie (Stahl) Gross. He grew up in Quimby and graduated from Willow Community High School. He went on to attend Jimmy Swaggart Bible College, where he earned a Masters of Divinity in Seminary. Solomon began his service in the United States Navy on March 25, 1977, and received an honorable discharge on March 16, 1981. Following his active-duty service, he transferred to the Naval Reserve.

Solomon Gross and Lillian Rivera were united into marriage on September 2, 1989 in Leeds, New York.

Solomon worked for many years in Sioux City at Gateway as a sales representative. His final employment was with Blue Bunny, where he remained until his retirement. He was an avid gun collector, enjoyed collecting Vietnam Apache Helicopter models, and loved searching his cell phone to learn about a wide variety of new things.

He was a member of the Morningside Assembly of God now know as the Restoration Church in Sioux City, Iowa.

Survivors include his wife, Lillian “Sam” Gross of Whiting, Iowa; sisters and brothers, Dori (Pablo “Paul”) Rivera of Tucson, Arizona, Lori Reusch of Meridan, Iowa, Harry (Joyce) Gross of Marcus, Iowa, Helen (Jeff) Dawson of Yankton, South Dakota, Danny (Jill) Gross of Waverly, Iowa, and Kathy (Mike) Stahl Tentinger of Le Mars, Iowa; adopted sister-in-law, Faith Rivera; numerous nieces and nephews; other relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel and Katie (Stahl) Gross; sister, Rosi Nelson; and Infant brother, Larry Gross.
