Shirley Jean Anderson

Shirley Jean Anderson, 68, of Sioux City, Iowa passed away Saturday, January 15, 2022 at UnityPoint Health- St. Luke’s, Sioux City, Iowa.

A memorial service will be 10:00 A.M. Saturday, April 23, 2022 at the Goslar Funeral Home Chapel, Onawa, Iowa with Pastor Todd Schlitter, officiating. A live stream of the service will be posted on the Goslar Funeral Home website with Shirley's obituary. Burial will follow at the Kennebec Cemetery, Castana, Iowa. Arrangements are under the direction of Goslar Funeral Home and Monuments, Onawa, Iowa.

Shirley Jean was born June 17, 1953 in Mapleton, Iowa, the daughter of Howard William and Yvonne Jean (Jensen) Anderson. She graduated from West Monona in 1971, in Onawa, Iowa. Shirley continued her education at Western Iowa Tech Community College, in Sioux City, Iowa and graduated August 4, 1972. She worked for the Medical Secretarial Practices in Radiology. She was last employed at Bruening Eye Specialists in Sioux City, Iowa.   

Shirley enjoyed quilting, Hawkeye’s basketball, and Ragbrai rides. She loved going to the lakes in Okoboji, Iowa.

Shirley was a member of the United Methodist Church in Sioux City, Iowa.

Survivors include nieces and nephews, Roger (Teresita Guitierrez Anderson) Anderson Jr., Amy (Joe) McManigal, Wesley (Jennifer) Anderson, Shellie Anderson, Jessica (Eric) Marnell, Misty Larson, Carrie Anderson, Daniel (Brandie) Anderson, and Joseph (Leeandra) Anderson; along with many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Yvonne (Jensen) Anderson; sister, Karen Louise Anderson; brothers, Roger William Anderson Sr., and Gary Lee Anderson; and nephew, Justin Charles Anderson.
