Shelly R. Iverson

Shelly R. Iverson, 58, of Sloan, Iowa passed away Tuesday, May 17, 2022 at Pleasant View Care Center, Whiting, Iowa.

A memorial service will be 10:30 A.M. Thursday, May 26, 2022 at the Community Church of Christ, Sloan Iowa with Pastor Kody Killian, officiating. A live stream of the service will be posted on the Goslar Funeral Home website with Shelly’s obituary. Burial will follow in the Sloan Cemetery, Sloan, Iowa.  Arrangements are under the direction of Goslar Funeral Home and Monuments, Onawa, Iowa.

Shelly Renee was born February 26, 1964 in Iowa City, Iowa, the daughter of Darrel and Mary (Jones) Iverson.

Due to a vehicle accident when Shelly was sixteen years old, she sustained devasting injuries and was a quadriplegic the rest of her life. She was in nursing homes and care facilities for forty-two years.

Shelly enjoyed and loved all kinds of music. Her smile was so big and her eyes would light up the whole room.

Survivors include her dad, Darrel (Dixie) Iverson of Sloan, Iowa; her mom, Mary Jane (David) Drievold of Denver, Iowa; three brothers, Mike (Cheryl) Iverson, Mark (Fran) Iverson, and Darby Iverson; two sisters, Deb (Brooke) Hanner, and DeLyn (Jamie) Dallen; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents; and one brother, “Butch” Iverson.
