Sharron Kay Thrift

Sharron Kay Thrift, 81, of Whiting, Iowa, passed away Monday, March 18, 2024, at Burgess Health Center, Onawa, Iowa, surrounded by family.

Per Sharron’s wishes, cremation had been accorded. A private family service will be held at a later date, with burial in the Onawa Cemetery, Onawa, Iowa. Arrangements are under the direction of Goslar Funeral Home and Monuments, Onawa, Iowa.

Sharron Kay was born October 11, 1942, in Blencoe, Iowa, the daughter of Donald and Myrtle (Bothwell) Kuehl. She graduated from Blencoe High School.

Sharron and Perry Thrift, Sr. were united in marriage on September 23, 1961, in Blencoe, Iowa.

She was a bank teller for many years in various places.

Sharron enjoyed word search puzzles, cooking, costume jewelry, and talking with their beagle dog Peanut.

She was a member of the Congregational Church in Blencoe, Iowa.

Survivors include her husband, Perry Thrift, Sr. of Whiting, Iowa; children, John (Sue) Thrift, and Jeanette (Roy) Stocker; grandchildren, Tyler Thrift, Alexandria Thrift, Sean Doane, Dallas Doane, and Peanut the Beagle; great-grandchildren, Joseph Clarine, and Brooklyn Clarine; sisters, Maxine Kuehl, Leota Sorenson, and Linda Reed; and many other relatives, and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Myrtle (Bothwell) Kuehl; son, Perry Thrift, Jr.; brothers, Harold Kuehl, Buzzie Kuehl, and Donald Kuehl, Jr., sisters, Donna Kuehl and Norma Caldwell.
