Rebecca "Becky" Jones

Rebecca “Becky” R. Jones, 65, of Whiting, Iowa passed away Tuesday, January 13, 2026 at UnityPoint Health – St. Luke’s Uptown, Sioux City, Iowa.

A memorial service will be 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, January 21, 2026 at the Goslar Funeral Home Chapel, Onawa, Iowa with Evangelist Dale Wolf, officiating. A live stream of the service will be posted on the Goslar Funeral Home website with Becky’s obituary. Burial will follow in the Onawa Cemetery, Onawa, Iowa. A visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Wednesday, January 21, 2026 at the Goslar Chapel. Arrangements are under the direction of Goslar Funeral Home and Monuments, Onawa, Iowa.

Rebecca Rae Jones was born April 7, 1960 in Onawa, Iowa, the daughter of Everett and Sherry (Sparks) Jones. Becky was raised in the Onawa area, where she shared many cherished years with her family. During her youth, she found great joy in horseback riding and competing in 4-H events alongside her brother, Rodney. She attended Onawa High School and proudly graduated with the Class of 1978, carrying with her the values of hard work, dedication, and community that shaped her throughout her life.

Throughout her working years, Becky held various positions, including setting brick for Eliason Construction in Salix, Iowa; working on the floor and in the kitchen at Casino Omaha near Onawa; and cooking at Suds N Jugs in Onawa. She especially found joy in cooking and took great pride in owning and operating her restaurant, Becky’s Place.

Becky was an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan and enjoyed playing in a dart league. In her free time, she was especially creative, spending many hours making beaded lanyards, necklaces, and bracelets for family and friends.

Survivors include her mother, Sherry (Sparks) Jones of Onawa, Iowa; two aunts, Rose Quinlain of Sioux City, Iowa, and Pat Sparks Freemont of Decatur, Nebraska; two uncles, Dennis Sparks of Walthill, Nebraska, and Donald Mustard of Onawa, Iowa; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Everett Jones; brother; Rodney Jones; paternal grandparents, George and Mildred (Pixler) Jones; maternal grandparents, Marvin and Nellie (Grant) Sparks; aunts, Mae Mustard, Myrtle Watson, Helen Corn, Jean Compton, and Deborah Sparks; uncles, Marion Jones, George, Jr. Jones, Eddie Jones, Donald Jones, Wayne Jones, Toby Sparks, Sergeant Major Guy W. Sparks, Ronald Freemont, and Michael Compton; and many other cousins and friends.
