Paul W. Weidt, Jr., 84, of Onawa, Iowa passed away Saturday, November 26, 2022 at his residence surrounded by his family.
A memorial service will be 2:00 P.M. Friday, December 2, 2022 at the Goslar Funeral Home Chapel, Onawa, Iowa with Darren C. E. Goslar, officiating. Burial will follow in the Onawa Cemetery, Onawa, Iowa. A visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the chapel. Arrangements are under the direction of Goslar Funeral Home and Monuments, Onawa, Iowa.
Paul Willis was born April 5, 1938 in Iowa City, Iowa, the son of Paul Weidt, Sr. and Lucille (Perry) Weidt. He grew up in Onawa and graduated from Onawa High School with the class of 1956.
Paul and Sandra Scott were united into marriage May 31, 1958, at the Faith Lutheran Church in Onawa, Iowa, and to this union two children, Randy and Kim, were born. Sandra passed away March 4, 2019.
Over the years, Paul worked as a painter, welder, construction worker, and truck driver. He enjoyed playing cards, shooting/target practice, carpentry, and leatherwork.
Paul was a devout Christian and enjoyed studying the bible.
Survivors include his son, Randy (Rhonda) Weidt of Blencoe, Iowa; daughter, Kim Weidt of Onawa, Iowa; he was blessed with six grandchildren, David (Kimberly) Weidt of Granger, Iowa, Jenifer (Josh) Berdahl of Moville, Iowa, Katelyn (Sawyer) Parr of Onawa, Iowa, Chad (Sharene) Allen of Onawa, Iowa, Valesa Parrish of Onawa, Iowa, and Jennifer Miller of Mound, Minnesota; twenty great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and many cousins, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra (Scott) Weidt; parents, Paul Weidt, Sr. and Lucille (Perry) Weidt; and one sister, June (Bob) Larson.
