Patricia "Pat" Rae Nagel

Patricia “Pat” Rae Nagel, 87, of Whiting, Iowa, passed away Thursday, March 30, 2023, at Pleasant View Care Center, Whiting, Iowa.

A funeral service will be 11:00 A.M. Monday, April 3, 2023, at the Goslar Funeral Home Chapel, Onawa, Iowa, with Pastor Catie Newman, officiating. A live stream of the service will be posted on the Goslar Funeral Home website with Pat’s obituary. A burial will follow at the Whiting City Cemetery in Whiting, Iowa. A visitation will be 4:00 – 6:00 P.M. Sunday, April 2, 2023, at the Goslar Funeral Home Chapel, Onawa, Iowa. Arrangements are under the direction of Goslar Funeral Home and Monuments, Onawa, Iowa.

Patricia Rae was born June 8, 1935, in Sioux City, Iowa, the daughter of Fred and Lucille (Gardner) McQuillen.  Pat lived in Springdale Township in Sioux City, Iowa, and moved to Whiting, Iowa. She attended Whiting Community School and graduated with the class of 1954. After graduating, she attended beauty school.

Pat worked as a beautician for many years. She worked at Pleasant View Care Center, MCI/Long Lines, and WinnaVegas. While working at WinnaVegas she was in guest services for many years.

She enjoyed listening to music and being outdoors, working in the garden.  Pat loved being with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include her children, Kevin (Leslie) Nagel of Fort Dodge, Iowa, Russ (Charlotte) Nagel of Sioux City, Iowa, Jody Purgett of Whiting, Iowa, and Jerry (Rachel) Nagel of Highlands Ranch, Colorado; grandchildren, April (Jaysun) Francis, Alex Nagel, Andy Nagel, Alison (Zach) Shearer, Alyssa Nagel, Joel (Tara) Nagel, Alisa (Easton) Stuard, Brandon Purgett, Brad (Kara) Purgett, Kristin (Christopher Fegenbush) Purgett, and Blake Purgett, many great-grandchildren, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Lucille (Gardner) McQuillen; daughter, Tami Lynn Nagel; and daughter-in-law, Wendy (Otto) Nagel.
