Nicholas “Nick” was born on November 25, 1982 in Cedar Falls, Iowa to Bryan and Barb Swee. Shortly after his birth his family moved to Mapleton, Iowa. Nick was an only child but had many cousins that he loved like siblings.

Nick attended MVAO Schools in Mapleton and graduated in 2001. After high school Nick moved to Waterloo, Iowa to attend college. He studied at Hawkeye Community College until transferring to The University of Northern Iowa where he studied Economics and Finance. Nick graduated from UNI Magna Cum Laude with a 4.0 GPA in 2008. On December 15, 2008, Nick married Lucy Michael on a beach in Montego Bay, Jamaica. It was the first and only time Nick left the country or flew on a commercial airplane. He enjoyed seeing the Caribbean Sea from above. Nick and Lucy shared a life together living in various cities in Iowa. They had a cat, named Wrigley that Nick loved very much. They later divorced.

Nick loved so many things about life. He loved fishing, golfing and being outdoors. He loved the Iowa Hawkeyes, Chicago Cubs and Kansas City Chiefs. He enjoyed going to Cubs games and other sporting events. Nick was also a big music lover. He loved spinning records and attending concerts. Those were the times he was in his happy place.
