Nazaria Luz was born on July 2, 1963, in Torrance, California, the daughter of Dale and Sandy (Cunningham) Donovan. She spent the first fourteen years of her life in California before later moving to North Sioux City, South Dakota. Nazaria attended Jefferson High School and later earned her GED. Over the years, she worked at the dog track in North Sioux and at the grocery store in Riverside.

Nazaria and Gene Kaderabek were united in marriage on December 16, 1997 at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Mapleton.

She later attended massage therapy school and even had her own massage table at her home in Mapleton, something she truly enjoyed.

She later spent nearly twenty-five years working in the sales and promotion department at Winna Vegas Casino Resort in Sloan, Iowa. During her time there, she had the opportunity to meet Loretta Lynn, Pam Tillis, and many other stars. Two of her favorite memories were going to Loretta Lynn’s bus and helping her pick out the outfit that Loretta Lynn would wear for her performance that night and riding bikes with Pam Tillis whenever Pam took a break from the stage.

Over the years, Nazaria worked at Fiesta Foods, Beef N Brew, and Craft Clothing all in Mapleton. She once rode the entire RAGBRAI route with her niece, completing the journey together. Nazaria had a deep love for horses and collected elephant figurines. She was a very active member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church and especially enjoyed spending time with the quilters group.

On Sunday, March 8, 2026, Nazaria went to her sister’s home, where the whole family gathered to celebrate her mom’s birthday. The day was filled with laughter, joyful conversation, and the warmth of being together. Everyone shared a wonderful time, making the celebration a truly enjoyable and memorable occasion. What a Blessing for the entire family!!
