Marlon Dean Kutzler, 72, of Albaton, Iowa passed away Friday, December 23, 2022 at UnityPoint Health - St. Luke’s Hospital, Sioux City, Iowa.
A Celebration of Life Service will be 11:00 A.M. Friday, January 13, 2023 at Skien Lutheran Church, Albaton, Iowa with Pastor Craig Bock, officiating. A recording of the service will be posted on the Goslar Funeral Home website with Marlon’s obituary. Burial will be held at a later date. A visitation will be I hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Goslar Funeral Home and Monuments, Onawa, Iowa.
Marlon was born October 12, 1950, in Onawa, Iowa the son of John and Lorraine (Dahl) Kutzler. He went to school in Sloan, Iowa and graduated from Sloan High School with the class of 1969. Marlon furthered his education at an Electronic School in Des Moines, Iowa. He worked for IBP as a forklift operator for thirty-eight years.
Marlon and Sherry Helkenn were married January 27, 1990 at Skien Lutheran Church in Albaton.
Marlon enjoyed watching the Iowa Hawkeyes and Minnesota Vikings play football, and the Minnesota Twins play baseball. He loved traveling with Sherry especially going on family annual trips to Minnesota. Some of Marlon’s hobbies include going to tractor pulls, gun collecting and gun shows, duck hunting, riding 4- wheelers, and going to movies on Tuesday’s. He was a member of The National Rifle Association. He was also a member of the Skien Lutheran Church, Albaton, Iowa.
Survivors include his wife, Sherry Kutzler, of Albaton, Iowa; children, Amy (Andrew) Jones of Tampa, Florida, Rachel (Bryan) Ackerman of Des Moines, Iowa, and Regan (Kevin) Immel of Waukee, Iowa; niece, Brenda Kutzler of Albaton, Iowa; step-son, Gary Boykin of Sioux City, Iowa; ten grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Lorraine (Dahl) Kutzler; daughter, Lana Jackson; and two brothers, Rodney Kutzler and Roger Kutzler.
