Marjorie Ann Harris Obituary

Marjorie Ann Harris, 90, of Onawa, Iowa passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 19, 2026 at Pleasant View Care Center in Whiting, Iowa.

A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, February 25, 2026 with a visitation one hour prior to the service at the Goslar Funeral Home Chapel, Onawa, Iowa, with Darren C.E. Goslar, officiating. A live stream of the service will be posted on the Goslar Funeral Home website with Marjorie’s obituary.  A private family burial will be held at a later date in the Onawa Cemetery, Onawa, Iowa. Arrangements are under the direction of Goslar Funeral Home and Monuments, Onawa, Iowa.

Marjorie Ann was born August 14,1935 in Onawa, Iowa, the daughter of Joseph Sr. and Hazel (Odom) Yanak.  Margie attended McNeill Country School and graduated from Onawa High School in 1954. 

Marjorie and Alfred Thomas (Tommy) Gray was united in marriage on March 25, 1959 at the First Christian Church in Onawa, Iowa. To this union, one daughter was born-Dianne Marie.

Later in life, Margie was united in marriage to William “Bill” Harris on October 1, 1984, at the Christian Church in Ottumwa, Iowa.  Ottumwa is where they made their home.  Bill passed away in March of 1995.

Marjorie worked at various places including Kresge’s in Sioux City, IA, ASCS Office for over fifteen years, Onawa Co-Op, and retired from Thelander Plumbing and Heating all of Onawa.

Margie’s family was the highlight of her life.  She loved helping others, volunteering, outdoor activities, and took great pride in her yard. 

Survivors include her daughter, Dianne (Gray) Kelley (Steven Hoffman); Grandchildren, Patrick (Katie) Kelley; and Robert (Danielle) Kelley; three great grandchildren, Aiden, Edith and Willa Kelley; Sister, Kathy (Don) Foster; Sister-In-Law Terry Yanak; Special Friend, Becky Marcum; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” Harris; parents, Joseph and Hazel (Odom) Yanak; brothers, Joe Yanak, Jr., and Robert Yanak; sister-in-law, Jeanne Yanak; and brother-in-law, Mark McDonald.
