Marcia Ronfeldt Obituary

Marcia Lucille Ronfeldt, 74, of Smithland, Iowa, a faithful servant of Jesus Christ, went home to be with her Lord on Saturday, March 16, 2024, at Unity Point Health-St. Luke’s Hospital, Sioux City, Iowa, surrounded by family.

A funeral service will be 10:00 A.M. Saturday, March 23, 2024, at Holly Springs Bible Fellowship, Holly Springs, Iowa, with Pastor Jim Thomas, officiating.  A recording of the service will be posted on the Goslar Funeral Home website with Marcia’s obituary. Burial will follow at the Westfork Township Cemetery, Climbing Hill, Iowa. Lunch and fellowship will be held at the church following the burial. Arrangements are under the direction of Goslar Funeral Home and Monuments, Onawa, Iowa.

Marcia Lucille was born August 20, 1949, in Onawa, Iowa, the daughter of Robert “Bob” and Lois (Sorenson) Morris. She attended Westwood High School and graduated with the class of 1967.

Marcia and Daniel Ronfeldt were united in marriage on May 4, 1968, in Sioux City, Iowa.  Dan later passed away on October 3, 2017.

Marcia worked as a bank teller. Later she worked with her husband Dan, traveling the United States, updating cable maps for Cox Cable. She also worked at Holly Industries and Green Acres for many years. Marcia volunteered at Her Health Women’s Center.

She enjoyed kayaking, gardening, camping, and going to coffee with friends. Family was very important to Marcia, especially her grandchildren.

Marcia was a member of the Holly Springs Bible Fellowship for many years. Faith was very important in her life, and she enjoyed gathering with friends to worship the Lord.

Survivors include her children, Kim (Matt) Scheer of Hornick, Iowa, and Justin (Stacie) Ronfeldt of Bronson, Iowa; grandchildren, Alex Ronfeldt, Houston Scheer, Josie (Nick) Schaeffer, Makenzie Melby, Ivy (Steven) Garcia, Cain Blenderman, Payge Ronfeldt, and Blake Ronfeldt; great-grandchildren, Shila Scheer, Royce Garcia, Vera Garcia, and Ryder Schaeffer; mother, Lois Morris of Hornick, Iowa; sisters, Vicky (Lee) Westergaard of Sloan, Iowa, and Janet (Gary) Ronfeldt of Schaller, Iowa; sister-in-law, Connie Bean of Hornick, Iowa; brother-in-law, Jim (Jayne) Ronfeldt of Hornick, Iowa; and many beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, other family members, and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Dan Ronfeldt; daughter, Mindy Ronfeldt; father, Robert Morris, Jr.; father-in-law, Mason Ronfeldt; mother-in-law, Letha Ronfeldt; brothers, Rick Morris, and Robin Morris; brother-in-law, Bill Bean; and nephew, Philip Schwegler.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Her Health Women’s Center, 5732 Sunnybrook Dr., Sioux City, Iowa, 51106.
