Lynn Diane Allen, 76, passed away on March 11, 2026 at Novant Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, North Carolina. Lynn passed away peacefully in her sleep surrounded by her loving family.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Monday, April 6, 2026 at the Salix United Methodist Church in Salix, Iowa with Pastor Catie Newman, officiating. A live stream of the service will be posted on the Goslar Funeral website with Lynn’s obituary. Burial will follow in the Sloan Cemetery, Sloan, Iowa. Arrangements are under the direction of Goslar Funeral Home and Monuments, Onawa, Iowa.
She was born on December 24, 1949 in Lexington, Nebraska, to Darrell and Francis Hollibaugh.
Lynn spent her early years moving around the Midwest with her family and the United States Army Corps of Engineers and spent time in Pierre, South Dakota, Onawa, Iowa, Sergeant Bluff, Iowa and Littleton, Colorado. Lynn graduated from Littleton High School in 1968. On July 19, 1969 Lynn married Roger L. Allen in Sloan, Iowa, and one son was born to this union, Brian Allen. Lynn and Roger were united in marriage for 46 years before his passing.
Lynn worked as a childcare provider for many years. She also worked at the Salix Tavern for over 25 years where she was well known to the residents of Salix. Lynn’s dearest love was her family and friends. Her favorite past times included going to the casino, playing BINGO, and traveling to North Carolina to visit her family.
Survivors include one son, Brian (Laura) Allen in Wilmington, North Carolina; granddaughters, Chloe Allen in Greenville, North Carolina, and Sara Allen in Wilmington, North Carolina; one sister, Cindy (Craig) Smith in Loveland, Colorado; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Darrell and Frances (Barth) Hollibaugh; her husband, Roger Allen; two sisters, Sharon Kay Hollibaugh, and Vicki Thomas; and one brother, Terry Hollibaugh.
