Lori Lynn (Phipps) Mousel Obituary

Lori Lynn (Phipps) Mousel, 61, of Kempner, Texas, formerly of Onawa, Iowa passed away Saturday, July 2, 2022 at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center in Temple, Texas.

A Celebration of Life Service will be 10:00 A.M. Saturday, July 23, 2022 at the Goslar Funeral Home Chapel, Onawa, Iowa with Darren C. E. Goslar, officiating. A live stream of the service will be posted on the Goslar Funeral Home website with Lori’s obituary. A visitation will be 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. Friday, July 22, 2022 at the chapel. Arrangements are under the direction of Goslar Funeral Home and Monuments, Onawa, Iowa.

Lori Lynn was born February 18, 1961, in Onawa, Iowa, the daughter of Harold and Ruby (Brink) Phipps. She graduated from West Monona High School in 1979.

Lori and Raymond Lee Mousel were united into marriage December 21, 1995 in Blencoe, Iowa. Raymond passed away December 15, 2019 in Onawa, Iowa.

Lori worked at Winna Vegas in Sloan, Iowa and Ameristar in Council Bluffs, Iowa. She enjoyed gardening, camping, cooking, and traveling to Costa Rica. Lori loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Lori was a member of the Blencoe United Church of Christ, Blencoe, Iowa.

Survivors include her children, Dustin (Bunni) Cooper of Kempner, Texas, Mindy (Joseph) Cooper Richa of Panama City, Panama, Melissa (Dustin) Wright of Kempner, Texas, Michelle (fiancé Curtis Ruhland) Limoges of Sloan, Iowa, and Ashley Black of Hornick, Iowa; grandchildren, Sophie, Jackson, Mason, Payge, Aydan, Zac, and Josh; great-grandson, Oren Brewer and one great-grandson on the way, Mason Ray; three brothers, H. Lee (Margaret) Phipps of Little Sioux, Iowa, Donnie (Denise) Phipps of Blencoe, Iowa, and Larry (Pat) Phipps of Iowa Falls, Iowa; one sister, Linda Urban of Sioux City, Iowa; sister-in-law, Candace Phipps of Onawa, Iowa; brothers-in-law, Charles Orsini of Onawa, Iowa, Donnie (Sharon) VanRoekel of Sioux City, Iowa, Louie (Desiree) VanRoekel of Deadwood, South Dakota, and Bruce (Pam) VanRoekel of Lawrence, Kansas; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Mousel; parents, Harold and Ruby (Brink) Phipps; parents-in-law, Merlin and Betty (Johnson) Mousel; sister, JoAnn Orsini; brother, Clarence Phipps; and two brothers-in-law, David Urban and Mark Mousel.
