Leopoldo "Paul" Cantu, Jr.

Leopoldo “Paul” Cantu, Jr., 59, of Blencoe, Iowa, and of Edinburg, Texas, passed away Monday, March 13, 2023, at CHI Health Creighton University Medical Center - Bergan Mercy Hospital, Omaha, Nebraska, surrounded by his family.

A visitation will be 10:00 A.M. – 12:00 P.M. (Noon) Wednesday, March 15, 2023, at the Goslar Funeral Home Chapel, Onawa, Iowa.  A Funeral Service will take place in Texas, with burial in Val Verde Memorial Gardens, Donna, Texas. Arrangements are under the direction of Goslar Funeral Home and Monuments, Onawa, Iowa.

Paul was born on October 2, 1963, in Pharr, Texas, the son of Leopoldo Sr. and Lucy (Gonzalez) Cantu.

Paul and Belinda Balderas were united in marriage on August 26, 1988, in Onawa, Iowa. To this union three children were born, Lindsey, Lizeth, and Leopoldo III.

Paul enjoyed working and raising cattle for many years. He was the Detasseling Contractor for Remington Seeds for over 27 years. Outside of work he enjoyed racing and watching Street Outlaws every Monday. Paul loved playing with his grandkids and being around his family.

Survivors include his wife, Belinda Cantu; children, Lindsey, Lizeth, and Leopoldo III; ten grandchildren, Christian, Chanel, Kamila, Sophia, Valentino, Daleisa, Danna, Leopoldo IIII, Layla, and Laiza; parents, Leopoldo Sr. and Lucy Cantu; brothers, Baldo, and Jesse; sisters, Mary, Dora, Paula, and Lucy; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
