It is with heavy hearts and cherished memories that we announce the passing of Larry George Lynn Hard, who left this world on January 19, 2025, at the age of 69
Born on May 28, 1955, in Mason City, IA, to Ernest and Betty (Anderson) Hard. Larry lived a life full of adventures and laughter, touching the hearts of everyone around him. Larry graduated from Garner, IA and proudly served in the Navy, where he began to embrace his knack for storytelling and humor. He met his (ex) wife in Nebraska after charming her with a generous $20 tip on a cup of coffee—a true testament to his larger-than-life personality. Over the years, Larry called many places home, including Iowa, South Dakota, Colorado, and for the past 30 years, Blue Earth, MN.
A natural salesman, Larry thrived in his career, connecting with people and sharing stories that would entertain and inspire laughter. He played a significant role in starting Michele's Sewing Shop, where he helped create a warm and inviting space for the community.
Larry was not just a salesman; he was a fantastic grandpa to his beloved granddaughters. He could be spotted leaping into the pool fully clothed, enjoying life to the fullest alongside them. He welcomed everyone with open arms, including a “bonus” daughter, and his family always felt his immense love and support.
Known for his humor, love of music, and passion for grilling (often in his welding helmet and apron), Larry was the life of the party. He brought joy to countless gatherings and, on occasion, even caused a stir that led to a visit from the fire department!
Larry leaves behind his beloved daughters, Sarah (Isiah) Bladzik of Elmore and Lydia (Sean) Hoehn of Mankato, bonus daughter Jennifer (Joe) Mees, granddaughters Zoe (Gannon) Bladzik and Ava (Harley) Bladzik, brother Gerald (Jody) Hard, sister Dawn (Brad) Lunning, Michele Hard as well as many other extended family members.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Terry, other family; Alan Decker, Owen Eaglestar, Peggy Moes, Dana Beaudry, Nichol Moes Lotzer, Gary Moes, Scott Moes, Travis Decker and Brittany Corcoran.
Past services to celebrate Larry's remarkable life was 12:00 P.M.- 4:00 P.M. Sunday, January 26, at the Elmore Legion.
