Julie (Mackey) Moriston, 69, of Onawa, Iowa passed away Thursday, June 22, 2023 at Elmwood Care Centre, Onawa, Iowa.
A memorial service will be 11:00 A.M. Friday, June 30, 2023 at the First Christian Church, Onawa, Iowa with Pastor Matt Wentz and Pastor Clif Cockburn, officiating. A live stream of the service will be posted on the Goslar Funeral Home website with Julie’s obituary. Burial will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Goslar Funeral Home and Monuments, Onawa, Iowa.
Julie Ann Mackey was born July 31, 1953 in Akron, Iowa, the daughter of Francis and Frances (Scott) Mackey. She graduated from Riverside High School with the class of 1971. Julie worked various jobs and the last job she had was with Rainbow Amusements Carnival out of Lincoln, Nebraska.
Julie collected many porcelain dolls and tigers. She enjoyed spending time with her family, reading, and working on many crafts. She was an avid Elvis Presley Fan. Julie was a member of the First Christian Church in Onawa.
Survivors include her brothers, Ron (Sandi) Mackey of Casa Grande, Arizona, and Steven (Teri) Mackey of Sioux City, Iowa; sister, Cindy (Jerry) Osterholt of Castana, Iowa; sisters-in-law, Randi Mackey of Le Mars, Iowa and Cora Mackey of Akron, Iowa; many nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews; and one great-great nephew and great-great niece.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Francis and Frances (Scott) Mackey; sister, Kathy Nichols; brothers, James Mackey and Douglas Mackey; and great-nephew, (infant) Austin Rae Collins.
