Joyce Caroline Schwab

Joyce Caroline Schwab, 84, of Onawa, Iowa, passed away Friday, December 29, 2023, at Kingsley Specialty Care, Kingsley, Iowa.

A funeral service will be 10:00 A.M. Thursday, January 4, 2024, at the Goslar Funeral Home Chapel, Onawa, Iowa, with Pastor Jim Thomas, officiating. A visitation will be one hour prior to the service. A live stream of the service will be posted on the Goslar Funeral Home website with Joyce’s obituary. A graveside service will be 2:00 P.M. Thursday, January 4, 2024, at the Arlington Heights Cemetery, Audubon, Iowa, with Pastor Keith Menter, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Goslar Funeral Home and Monuments, Onawa, Iowa.

Joyce Caroline was born March 9, 1939, in Guthrie County, Iowa, the daughter of Edward and Alice (Anderson) Schwab. She attended Country School.

 Joyce lived with her parents until their passing. She later moved to Mapleton, Iowa, to move closer to her sister. Then moved to Onawa, Iowa, where she was a client of the Crossroads family for many years. Joyce and George E. Lee, Jr. were united in a private ceremony on February 14, 2002. They resided in Onawa. George later passed away in March of 2005. In 2022 Joyce moved to Kingsley Specialty Care, Kingsley, Iowa.

Survivors include her nephews, Ron (Shelly) Beckstrom of Pierson, Iowa, Don (Kathy) Beckstrom of Carroll, Iowa, and Lonnie (Edith) Schwab of North Carolina; nieces, Marilyn (Larry) Kahman of Sioux City, Iowa, Linda Schwab of Waukee, Iowa, and Lynette (Morris) Mason of Waukee, Iowa; and many great, great-great, and great-great-great nieces, and nephews.

She was preceded in death be her parents, Edward and Alice (Anderson) Schwab; significant other, George E. Lee, Jr; infant brother, Jerrold Ray Schwab; brother, James (Dotha) Schwab; and sister, Joan (Gerald) Beckstrom.
