There the family became members of the Methodist Church. There were many fond memories of the people in this small town. She then moved to Correctionville. Joan married Robert Miller and joined the First Christian Church. She was a bible school teacher, pre-school Sunday school teacher, and belonged to Circle III for many years. Joan enjoyed serving Kiwanis meals and helping with funerals. Joan became an outdoor lady, helping with the farm work with her husband. Joan learned to drive tractor & truck and hauled many loads of corn and beans to the elevator and the bins at home.
Joan and Robert wintered in Texas where she joined the Red Hat Society. She enjoyed the fun and social part. Joan was an avid bridge player and often would go to play four times a week. Joan loved genealogy and did many family histories. Joan worked many years to acquire all of the facts and pictures needed.
