Jennifer was born on May 23, 1975, in Onawa, Iowa, to Bruce and Joan (Mings) Long. She spent her early years on the family farm, where she developed a deep love for animals, including horses, goats, and cats. She especially enjoyed horseback riding on her horse, Queen. Jennifer also cherished time spent cooking and baking with her aunt and grandmother, playing with her cousins, and visiting family in Colorado. She often shared the fun memory of being a child extra in scenes of Children of the Corn, which was filmed in the area.
When Jennifer was 10 years old, her family moved to Rapid City, South Dakota. During her school years, she became involved in theater and participated in school plays. She graduated from Stevens High School in 1993.
After high school, Jennifer met Tim Boes. They later married and had two daughters, Madison and Mallory. Jennifer was a devoted and fun-loving mother who loved spending time with her girls, especially doing activities and crafts together.
In 2000, Jennifer moved to Johnston, Iowa, where she became an active member of her community. She was involved with Point of Grace Church, including writing plays for their vacation Bible school programs. She also enjoyed acting in short films for the 48 Hour Film Festival. Jennifer loved spending time outdoors in the warmer months, especially going on neighborhood walks, swimming in the pool, boating, and camping.
Jennifer had a passion for working with children and spent many years in roles including daycare provider, kindergarten associate, and Kids Club leader. She later obtained her real estate license.
In recent years, she especially loved spending time with her family, grandchildren, her significant other, Brent, and their cats, Cabo and Salem. Jennifer will be remembered for her warmth, creativity, and the joy she brought to those around her.
Those left to honor her memory include her parents, Bruce and Joan Long; her sister, Brittany (Thomas Freeman) Long; her daughters, Madison (Scott Davis) Boes and Mallory (Ian Martens) Boes; her grandchildren, Skyler Woodard, Scarlett Davis, and Grayson Davis; her significant other, Brent Weilbrenner; and many other cherished family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Brett Long; her grandparents, Donald and Thelma Long and Charles and Julia Mings; and her aunts, Donna Dietschy and Kathy Ware, along with her uncles, Jim Long and Dick Dietschy.
