Jeanette Esther Sievers

Jeanette Esther Sievers, 86, of Onawa, Iowa, passed away Sunday, June 2, 2024, at Burgess Health Center, Onawa, Iowa.

A funeral service will be 10:30 A.M. Friday, June 7, 2024, at the Faith Lutheran Church, Onawa, Iowa, with Pastor Paul Coen, officiating. A live stream of the service will be posted on the Goslar Funeral Home website with Jeanette’s obituary. Burial will follow in the Onawa Cemetery, Onawa, Iowa. A visitation will be 5:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M. with sharing of memories at 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, June 6, 2024, at the Goslar Funeral Home Chapel in Onawa, Iowa. Arrangements are under the direction of Goslar Funeral Home and Monuments, Onawa, Iowa.

Jeanette Esther was born February 18, 1938, in Onawa, Iowa, the daughter of Herman and Esther (Stoll) Moltsau. She grew up in Onawa and graduated from Onawa High School in May of 1958.

Jeanette and Raymond Sievers were united in marriage on December 29, 1957, in Onawa, Iowa. To this union three children were born, Jeffrey, Patricia, and Pamela.

She worked for the Onawa Café, Happy Chef, and Oehler Brother’s Restaurant for many years. Jeanette enjoyed gardening, flowers, fishing, crafts, admiring her Crosley classic convertible car, and riding horses. She loved her family and supported her children in everything they did.

She was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church, Onawa, Iowa.

Survivors include her children, Jeff (Roxie) Sievers of Allen, Nebraska, Patty (Duane Gosch) Washburn of Mapleton, Iowa, and Pam (Harold) Groves of Onawa, Iowa; grandchildren, Ray (Kelly) Sievers, Nicole Sievers, Josh (Brittany) Sievers, Gary (Riley Brockman) Jensen, Karen (Justin Jensen) Jensen; great-grandchildren, Jena Tindol, Chloe Sievers, Johanna Sievers, Kendal Gronenthal, Trevyn Gronenthal, Alexa Sievers, Brayden Sievers, Weston Jensen, and Boone Jensen; and many other relatives, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Sievers; parents, Herman and Esther (Stoll) Moltsau; sisters and brother, Sadie, Arlene, and Thomas Moltsau.
