Jeanette Louise Casperson, 94, of Onawa, Iowa, formerly of Ute, Iowa, passed away Monday, May 5, 2025, at Pleasant View Care Center, Whiting, Iowa.
A funeral service will 11:00 A.M. Friday, May 9, 2025, at the Goslar Funeral Home Chapel, Onawa, Iowa, with Jack Gibler, officiating. A live stream of the service will be posted on the Goslar Funeral Home website with Jeanette’s obituary. Burial will follow in the Jordan Cemetery, Soldier, Iowa. A visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the Goslar Funeral Home Chapel, Onawa, Iowa. Arrangements are under the direction of Goslar Funeral Home and Monuments, Onawa, Iowa.
Jeanette Louise was born February 18, 1931, in Correll, Minnesota, the daughter of Joseph and Gudrun (Johnson) Watkins. She attended Onawa High School and graduated with the class of 1949.
Jeanette and Kenny Casperson were united in marriage on November 23, 1952, in Onawa, Iowa, at the First Christian Church. They lived on their farm just outside of Soldier for thirteen years, where her husband Kenny built their home in Ute, Iowa, and the couple lived there for over forty years.
Jeanette was a bookkeeper at Berne CO-OP of Ute. Jeanette and Kenny owned and operated Main Street Market in Ute, Iowa, for many years. A couple of Jeanette’s favorite past times were window shopping at the thrift stores or cuddling up with a good book.
The couple later moved to Onawa, Iowa, where they resided for approximately seven years.
Survivors include her children, Gary (Tammy) Casperson of Okeechobee, Florida, Marvin (Tina) Casperson of Albany, Oregon, and Bryan Casperson of Englewood, Colorado; grandchildren, Ryan (Fiancé Nicole Jacobson) Casperson of Whiting, Iowa, Kevin (Raquel) Casperson of Wimauwa, Florida, Cody (Ashley) Casperson of Okeechobee, Florida, Audrea (Tyler) Stickland of Albany, Oregon, Ashley Casperson of Albany, Oregon, and foster grandson, Charles Tuttle of Albany, Oregon; great-grandchildren, Elissa (Justin), Ethan, Courtney, Carter, Parker, Josiah, Daniel, Caitlyn, Natalie, Isaiah, Isabella, Joslynn, and Allison; and many other relatives, and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Casperson; parents, Joseph and Gudrun (Johnson) Watkins; daughter-in-law, Pamela (Beck) Casperson; and great-grandson, Daniel.
