Janet K. Heck

Janet K. Heck, 80, of Onawa, Iowa passed away Monday, August 1, 2022 at Burgess Health Center, Onawa, Iowa.

A memorial service will be at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, August 13, 2022 at the First Christian Church, Onawa, Iowa with Pastor Nick Bank and Elder Lonnie Campbell, officiating. A live stream of the service will be posted on the Goslar Funeral Home website with Janet’s obituary. Burial will follow in the Onawa Cemetery, Onawa, Iowa. A visitation will be from 10:00 – 11:00 A.M. Saturday, August 13, 2022 at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Goslar Funeral Home and Monuments, Onawa, Iowa.

Janet Kay Beedle was born July 18, 1942 in Onawa, Iowa, the daughter of Myrl “Jack” and Annabelle Eva (Lamb) Beedle. Janet grew up and attended school in Onawa, Iowa.

Janet Beedle and Ron Heck were married April 20, 1960. To this union three children were born, Kevin, Tony, and Lisa.

In addition to being a homemaker, Janet did the bookkeeping regarding their farm operations and Heck Construction. Janet enjoyed having coffee and conversation with her neighborhood circle friends. She loved spending time with her family, especially her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and did lots of babysitting for her grandchildren. In her earlier years, Janet and Ron enjoyed square dancing, ballroom dancing, and bowling with lots of couples on the weekends. Janet also enjoyed the outdoors and gardening.

Survivors include her children, Kevin (Vickie) Heck of Holstein, Iowa, Tony (Angie) Heck of Salix, Iowa, and Lisa (Steve) Evans of Salix, Iowa; seven grandchildren, Kimberly Heck of Sioux City, Iowa, Kelli Meyer of Dallas, Texas, Kyle (Dana) Meyer of Holstein, Iowa, Trevor Heck of Humboldt, Iowa, Tatum Heck of Salix, Iowa, Tamara Heck of Salix, Iowa, and Haley (Andy) Homan of Elk Point, South Dakota; nine great-grandchildren, Cy Heck, Sam Hudelson, Greyson Homan, Brendan Homan, Jaden Brouwer, Emma Heck, Anna Heck, Adalyn Meyer, and Olivia Meyer; brother, Gary (Shirley) Beedle of Onawa, Iowa; three sisters-in-law, Betty Kelley of Arvada, Colorado, Roselyn Fry of Arvada, Colorado, and Janet Beedle of Tekamah, Nebraska; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Eugene Heck; her parents, Jack and Annabelle (Lamb) Beedle; parents-in-law, Stokley “Buck” and Dollie (Anderson) Heck, grandson, Kyle Heck; and brother, Ronnie Beedle.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Janet’s memory may be sent to Burgess Home Health/Hospice, Onawa, Iowa.
