Janet Leota Archer, 88, of Woodbine, Iowa formerly of Moorhead, Iowa passed away Saturday, October 15, 2022 at Azria Health Rose Vista, Woodbine, Iowa.
Per Janet’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Private family services were held. Arrangements are under the direction of Goslar Funeral Home and Monuments, Onawa, Iowa.
Janet was born October 2, 1934 at home on the farm near Woodbine, the daughter of Dewey and Bertha (Benson) Cox. She attended country school near Woodbine in the 1940’s and early 1950’s.
Janet and Ted Lee Archer were united into marriage on December 29, 1953. The couple had three children, Paul, Steven, and Peggy. Ted passed away May 12, 2004 in Hot Springs, South Dakota.
Janet was an extremely hard-working mother and wife. She enjoyed doing yard work, painting, reading western books, horses, country music festivals, card playing, and watching rodeos. She loved drinking Pepsi. Janet always enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her children, Paul (Peggy) Archer of Moorhead, Iowa and Peggy (Michael) Burg of Dunlap, Iowa; many grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; siblings, Donald Cox of Woodbine, Iowa, Ronald (Linda) Cox of Schleswig, Iowa, Patricia (Rick) Hardy of Ute, Iowa, Stanley (Chris) Cox of Woodbine, Iowa; brother-in-law, Frank Archer of Moorhead, Iowa; sisters-in-law, Louise Cox of Moorhead, Iowa, and Barbara Cox of Dunlap, Iowa; and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty years, Ted Archer; parents, Dewey and Bertha (Benson) Cox; two infant brothers, Dewey Jr. and Keith; son, Steven Archer (died in March of 2019); brothers, Larry (Doris) Cox, Gary Cox, and Charles Cox; sisters, Darlene (Walter) Malone, Bertha (Bob) Morton, and Carolyn Archer; brother-in-law, Arnold Hardy; and sister-in-law, Margaret Cox.
