Jane Carol Ramsey

Jane Carol Ramsey, 88, of Onawa, Iowa, passed away Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at Pleasant View Care Center, Whiting, Iowa.

A funeral service will be 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, May 21, 2024, at the Goslar Funeral Home Chapel, Onawa, Iowa, with Elder Lonnie Campbell, officiating. A live stream of the service will be posted on the Goslar Funeral Home website with Jane’s obituary. Burial will follow in the Graceland Cemetery, Blencoe, Iowa. A visitation will be 5:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M. Monday, May 20, 2024, at the Goslar Funeral Home Chapel, Onawa, Iowa. Arrangements are under the direction of Goslar Funeral Home and Monuments, Onawa, Iowa.

Jane Carol was born September 26, 1935, in Blencoe, Iowa, the daughter of Floyd and Leona (Scurlock) McLaughlin. She attended Blencoe School through the fifth grade, and then graduated from Onawa High School with the class of 1954.

Jane and William Ramsey were united in marriage on February 15, 1958, in Onawa, Iowa. William later passed away January 31, 1985.

She was a very caring mother and enjoyed raising her children. Jane enjoyed gardening, puzzles, writing poetry, reading, bird watching, embroidering, music, and traveling. She was an avid Hawkeye and Cubs fan. Jane loved spending quality time with family and friends.

She was a member of the First Christian Church in Onawa and was baptized in 2015 there. Jane was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary to the Veterans of Foreign Wars and was a life member of the Auxiliary Legion post #941 of Harlan, Iowa.

Survivors include her children, Bessie (Dave) McCullock of Lyons, Nebraska, Micki (Mike) Ingram of Mapleton, Iowa, Barton (Mary Hoffman) Ramsey of Scribner, Nebraska, and Sarah Ramsey of Omaha, Nebraska; grandchildren, Nathan (Fiancé Dianna Molina) Burgess, Jacqueline (Fiancé Cole Gustafson) Burgess, Jessica (Shawn) Satorie, Zach McCullock, Annie (Max) Christensen, Corey (MaKenna) McCullock, Kathy (Tarncy) Ernst, LeeAnn (Audie Bridgeman) Ingram, Craig (Becca) Ingram, Jennifer Ramsey, Jason (Fiancé Alex Hardee) Ramsey, and Jami Ramsey; great-grandchildren, Dominic, Gemma, Amelia, Sterling, Blue, Natalie, Avery, Riley, Barrett, Dawson, Hayes, Brandtly, Kelby, Thane, Hadley, Damien, Hayley, Gage, Epic, Bella, Aurora, Caulder, Harlee, and Lexi; great-great-grandchildren, Berkley, Braelynn, Xander, Reagan, Alana, Eleanor; brother, Jim McLaughin of Beresford, South Dakota; and many other relatives, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Ramsey; parents, Floyd and Leona (Scurlock) McLaughlin; life-time companion, Gordon Conway; infant brother, John McLaughlin; special aunt and uncle, Laura and “Swede” Holsapple; and great-granddaughter, Addison Jane Burgess.
