James "Jim" Edward Johnson

James “Jim” Edward Johnson, 80, of Ute, Iowa passed away Wednesday, March 30, 2022 at Elmwood Care Centre in Onawa, Iowa.

A visitation will be held 5:00 – 8:00 P.M. Tuesday, April 5, 2022 at the Goslar Funeral Home Chapel, Onawa, Iowa. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date with burial in the St. Clair Cemetery, Ute, Iowa. Arrangements are under the direction of Goslar Funeral Home and Monuments, Onawa, Iowa. 

James Edward was born October 10, 1941 in Castana, Iowa, the son of George Walden and Leona Ida (Liebold) Johnson. James grew up in Castana and attended school there. He served in the United States Army in 1964.

James and Connie Lou Scott were united into marriage October 20, 1979 at the Methodist Church in Ute, Iowa.

Jim worked for Bruning Elevators for several years. He then worked for Godbersen Smith Construction from 1979 until he retired in 2005. Jim enjoyed hunting, fishing, cutting wood, and gardening. He loved his animals especially his coons, cats, dogs, sheep, and all kinds of cows.

Survivors include his wife, Connie Johnson of Ute, Iowa; children, Wayne (Marthine) Johnson of Ute, Iowa, and James (Crystal) Johnson, Jr. of Mapleton, Iowa; special family member, Janette Bridgeman of Onawa, Iowa; grandchildren, Pipper Johnson, Wyatt Johnson, and Paige Laughlan; sister, Evelyn (Henry) Klockgether of Mapleton, Iowa; countless grand dogs; and several nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Leona (Liebold) Johnson; brother, Wayne R. (Joyce) Johnson; and parents-in-law, Reese and Mamie (Hayes) Scott.
