James Walters

James Walters, 86, of Oto, Iowa passed away due to complications of Alzheimer’s at Azria Longview Nursing Home in Missouri, Valley, Iowa on Wednesday, August 20, 2025.

James lived a long and celebrated life. The family will have a private memorial service at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Goslar Funeral Home and Monuments, Onawa, Iowa.

James Delmar was born April 16, 1939 in Sioux City, Iowa, the son of Emmett and Elsie (Staben) Walters. He grew up in Sioux City and graduated from Central High School. After graduation, James served in the United States Navy.

James worked for John Morrell in Sioux City until his retirement. He loved animals, country music, cars, and taking care of as many cats as he could.

James is survived by his children, Scott Walters, Timothy (Lynn) Walters, Ryan and (Jennifer) Walters and Adam Walters; six grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.

James is reunited in heaven with his parents, Emmett and Elsie (Staben) Walters; and his sister, Elaine (Ronnie) Anderson.
