Ione Anzonetta "Anzie" Nichols Obituary

Ione Anzonetta “Anzie” Nichols, went peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, November 12, 2025. She was 83 years of age.

Funeral Services will be at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, November 22, 2025 at the Holly Springs Bible Fellowship (2697 280th Street, Hornick, Iowa) with Pastor Jim Thomas, officiating. A recording of the service will be posted on the Goslar Funeral Home website with Anzie’s obituary. Visitation with family present will be 5:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M. Friday, November 21, 2025 at the Holly Springs Bible Fellowship, Hornick, Iowa. Burial will follow the service at the Westfork Township Cemetery in Climbing Hill, Iowa. Arrangements are under the direction of Goslar Funeral Home and Monuments, Onawa, Iowa.

Anzie was born on May 16, 1942, in Sioux City, Iowa to Thomas “DeWitt” and Inez (Moss) Beem. Anzie was the oldest of six children, Clifford, Donna, Tommy, Buddy, and Barbetta. She graduated from Climbing Hill High School in 1960. Anzie lived and grew up outside of Climbing Hill, Iowa and lived on the family homestead until her passing.

In 1960 Anzie (Beem) Nichols and James Fred Nichols were married and later divorced in 1994. From their marriage they had three children, Faith, Gail, and Hope. Anzie was a proud and devoted grandmother to eleven grandchildren, a loving great-grandmother to twelve.

Anzie was a beloved matriarch for her family and lived a life of hard work. Throughout her life she worked various jobs, A T & T telephone company, ASCS Office, Hy-Vee, truck driver and farming. Anzie spent many years serving on committees for the Climbing Hill Baptist Church.

Anzie remained active in her life over the many years with family, was an avid bowler, tended to the land, gardening, raising animals, and traveling.

Anzie is survived by her children and their spouses, Faith (Thomas) Neskora of Moulton, Texas, Gail (Jeannie) Nichols of Climbing Hill, Iowa, and Hope (Mark) Feiner of Sioux City, Iowa; eleven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren; her siblings and their spouses, Clifford (Kristi) Beem of Denver, Colorado, Donna (Mark) Bresley of Omaha, Nebraska; and Buddy Beem of Denver, Colorado; and many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, DeWitt and Inez Beem; brother, Tommy Beem; and sister, Barbetta Beem.
