Francis "Frank" Parsons

Francis “Frank” E. Parsons, 86, of Onawa, Iowa passed away Friday, September 20, 2024 at Burgess Health Center in Onawa, Iowa.

A memorial service will be held at 4:00 P.M. Saturday, September 28, 2024 at the Goslar Funeral Home Chapel in Onawa, Iowa with Pastor Catie Newman, officiating. A live stream of the service will be posted on the Goslar Funeral Home website with Frank's obituary. Arrangements are under the direction of Goslar Funeral Home and Monuments, Onawa, Iowa.

Francis Elsworth was born January 6, 1938 in Loveland, Colorado, the son of Thomas E. and Nellie (Mansir) Parsons. Frank grew up on a ranch near Loveland, Colorado. He attended elementary and high school in Loveland, Colorado. Frank served in the United States Air Force.

Frank and Carolyn were united into marriage and the couple later divorced.  

Frank and Sandra Klingensmith were united into marriage February 26, 1965 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He worked as a typewriter repairman for Typewriter Specialists of Northern Colorado for many years and was skilled on nineteen major brands of typewriters. Frank then became a mechanic in various garages including his own shop.

Frank enjoyed fishing, camping, and being outdoors. He loved teasing his siblings growing up.

Survivors include his son, Jeff W. Parsons of Colorado; sister, Nellie “Peach” Schleigher of Colorado; two stepsons, Robert McClure of Onawa, Iowa and Edward McClure of Onawa, Iowa, and a step-son-in-law, Darrell Allen of Mapleton, Iowa; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas E. and Nellie (Mansir) Parsons; wife; Sandra Parsons; daughter, Debra “Debbie” Dawn; son, Thomas Parsons; stepdaughter, Patricia Allen; step-daughter-in-law, LeAnn McClure; two sisters, Emma and Joy; and three brothers, Dave, Kenny, and Thomas.
