Elizabeth “Beth” Ann Phelps, 63, of Decatur, Nebraska passed away Wednesday, December 18, 2024 at CHI Health Creighton University Medical Center- Bergan Mercy, Omaha, Nebraska.
A memorial service will be 10:30 A.M. Friday, December 27, 2024 at the Decatur United Methodist Church, Decatur, Nebraska with Pastor Michael McGregor and Evangelist Dale Wolf, officiating. A recording of the service will be posted on the Goslar Funeral Home website with Beth’s obituary. Burial will follow in the Hillcrest Cemetery, Decatur, Nebraska. Arrangements are under the direction of Goslar Funeral Home and Monuments, Onawa, Iowa.
Elizabeth Ann was born April 6, 1961 at Oakland Memorial Hospital in Oakland, Nebraska, the daughter of Richard “Dick” and Mary Judith (Lewis) Feiling. Beth grew up and attended Tekamah-Herman Schools in Tekamah, Nebraska. She continued her college education at the College of Saint Mary’s in Omaha and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree to become a registered nurse. Beth worked in nursing until her health declined.
On August 16, 2003, at the Decatur United Methodist Church, Beth Feiling married the love of her life, James “Jim” Phelps from Decatur, Nebraska. Her years loving and living together with Jim were her happiest.
Beth was an avid reader; she loved playing games, especially Candy Crush and crossword puzzles. She loved boating and fishing and going on date nights with Jim to the movies. Beth was an animal lover, calling her personal pets her “fur babies”. She also loved going on drives with Jim to watch the seasons change or to explore new regions. Beth was affiliated with the Decatur United Methodist Church in Decatur, Nebraska.
Survivors include her husband, Jim Phelps of Decatur, Nebraska; her children, Jennifer Jones, Cindy (Dave) Brown, Willy (Amanda) Phelps, and Jimmy (Hannah Bartz) Phelps; grandchildren, Cody Parker, Baylee Phelps, Samantha Phelps, Alisa Brown, Lacey Brown, Chloe Brown, David Brown, Madison Phelps, Dallas Phelps, Randall Phelps, Garrett Phelps, Max Jones, Gracie Jones, Eli Jones, David Brown, and Colton Brown; two great-grandchildren, Milo Garcia and Haisley Taylor; brothers and sisters, Jim (Kris) Tobin, Ed (Regina) Feiling, Deanna Gowen, Earl (Chris) Feiling, Bill (Tracy) Tobin, Nancy Montes, Eli (Amen) Feiling, and Kristen Feiling; and many nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Eric Feiling; father, Dick Feiling; mother, Mary Judith (Lewis) Feiling; stepmother, Barbara Feiling; and a special – close grandmother, Norma Lewis.
