Obituary
Douglas “Doug” Merrill Wiggs, 68, of Sloan, Iowa, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, March 25, 2023, at MercyOne Siouxland Medical Center, Sioux City, Iowa.
Per Doug’s wishes, cremation has taken place and no services will be held at this time. Doug gave the gift of life through organ and tissue donation with the Iowa Donor Network. Arrangements are under the direction of Goslar Funeral Home and Monuments, Onawa, Iowa.
Douglas “Doug” Merrill Wiggs was born in Onawa, Iowa, on October 15, 1954, the son of Merrill and Glenda (Kirk) Wiggs.
Doug and Barbara Diane Plummer were united into marriage on January 30, 1970, at Climbing Hill, Iowa. To this union two children were born Kirk and Rick.
He was a welder and farmer for many years. Doug enjoyed stockcar racing and his Harley.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Wiggs of Sloan, Iowa; children, Kirk (Tiffany) Wiggs and Rick (Jennifer) Wiggs; grandchildren, Ethan, Brooke, Jonah, Jake, and Chloe; brother, Dennis (Susan)Wiggs, and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Merrill and Glenda (Kirk) Wiggs, grandparents, Joe and Bertha (Baker) Kirk, and Lewis and Nellie (Quigley) Wiggs.
