Dennis Soukup

Dennis Gene Soukup, 66, of Ute, Iowa, passed away Monday, February 24, 2025, at Pleasant View Care Center, Whiting, Iowa.

A private family graveside service will be held at St. Clair Cemetery, Ute, Iowa, with Reverend Richard Merrill, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Goslar Funeral Home and Monuments, Onawa, Iowa.

Dennis Gene was born on October 20, 1958, the son of Gene and Karen (Grant) Soukup. He grew up on a farm near Ute, Iowa. Dennis attended Charter Oak-Ute High School and graduated with the class of 1977.

Dennis farmed in his earlier years of life. He moved to California and was a contractor for a construction business for many years. 

He enjoyed fishing, camping, and watching NASCAR.

Survivors include his mother, Karen Soukup of Ute, Iowa; special friend, Jaye Hess of Clovis, California; children, Ashley (Travis) Briar of Olathe, Kansas, and Tyler (Meredith) Soukup of Norwalk, Iowa; grandchildren, Ella and Claire Briar, and Sophia and Kennedy Soukup; brother, Steve (Lori) Soukup of Las Vegas, Nevada; sister, Patti (Burdette) Vogt of Charter Oak, Iowa; and other relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Gene Soukup; and paternal and maternal grandparents.
