Charlene D. Doyle, aged 74, of Ames, Iowa, passed away on September 18, 2024, at the Israel Family Hospice House in Ames, Iowa.
A private family graveside service will be held on Monday, September 23, 2024 in the Little Sioux Township Cemetery of Smithland, Iowa.
Born on March 20, 1950, in Hartington, Nebraska. Patrick and Charlene were united in marriage on May 20, 1969, in Yankton, South Dakota.
Before her retirement, Charlene dedicated many years of service to the Gentle Care Animal Hospital in Nixa, Missouri. Then, she enjoyed volunteering at Bethesda Community Food Pantry. She will be greatly missed by her granddog, Riley Copple. They spent alot of time snuggling in the chair, sharing their favorite blanket.
Charlene is survived by her husband, Patrick Doyle of Ames; their daughters, Melissa (Rod) Copple of Ames and Sherry Christian of Council Bluffs; grandchildren, Devin Christian, Sherissa (Austyn) Christian, and Austin Christian; and great-grandchildren, Natalie, Aria, Delilah, Olivier, and Barrett. Close family friends include Cindie Mead of Correctionville, Shashawna (Jake) Beneke of Ankeny, and Stephanie (Keith) Mead-Brat of Ute.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Russell J. and Marion G. (Alf) Steffen, siblings Russell R. Steffen and Sandra Steffen, and her favorite prankster, James “Timbuck” Mead.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Israel Family Hospice House in appreciation of their staff or Bethesda Community Food Pantry to support its mission.
