Carol Lee Bean, 77, of Onawa, Iowa passed away Saturday, May 7, 2022 at her home surrounded by her family.

A funeral service will be 10:30 A.M. Thursday, May 12, 2022 at the Goslar Funeral Home Chapel, Onawa, Iowa with Dale Wolf, officiating. Wednesday, May 11, 2022 at the chapel. Arrangements are under the direction of Goslar Funeral Home and Monuments, Onawa, Iowa.

Carol was born May 19, 1944 in Sloan, Iowa, the daughter of Bill and Thelma Irish.  Carol attended school in Sloan, Iowa.

Carol and Dale Bean were united in marriage December 17, 1960 and to this union had three children, Valerie (Wally) Morgan, Kelly (Curtis) Seward and Jeff (Deb) Bean.

Carol worked for many years at Loomis & Sons Trucking in Onawa alongside one of her best friends and sister-in-law, Patty Bellis.   Dale and Carol and brother-in-law, Ralph became owners of the B&B Round-up, a local steak house and bar in 1977. Many, many long hours and a lot of hard work were spent building a successful business. They say it takes a village to raise your children but they found out it helps to have a large family to run a restaurant business including grandma, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Dale, Carol and Ralph also established Tyville dog racing.   They spent many years raising, training and attending dog races.

Carol enjoyed family the most in life and upheld the Bean family tradition of hosting large family gatherings. A Christmas Eve tradition with Santa could host close to 100 family members. Family fun included boating, go cart racing, and attending sporting events with all her grandchildren.

Survivors left to cherish her memory include her husband of over 61 years Dale; daughters, Valerie (Wally) Morgan, and Kelly (Curtis) Seward and son, Jeff (Deb) Bean.  Carol also shared a special son-like bond with Heath (Heather) Nelson. Grandchildren are Mindy (Nick) Holverson, Emily (Brandon) Madison, Brittany (Dan) Buresh, Drew (Keshia) Bean, Derek (Sara) Bean, Heather & Hailey Morgan; great-grandchildren, Keegan, Kinnick, and Kyler Holverson, Makenna, Graham and Hallie Madison, Liam and Noah Buresh and Rylee and Everly Bean; a sister, Shirley (Gary) Beedle; sisters-in-law, Judy (Ed) Clift, Patty (Jerry) Bellis, Ruth (Roger) Meadows, and Neva Bean; brother-in-law, Gary (Janie) Bean; and many other family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Thelma Irish; an infant sister, Joan; sister, Joy Delle Chewning; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Clyde & Margaret Bean; and brothers-in-law, Ralph and Robert Bean.
