Obituary
Beverly Jean Smith, 84, of Onawa, Iowa passed away Monday, September 12, 2022 at Elmwood Care Centre, Onawa, Iowa.
A graveside service will be 2:00 P.M. Monday, September 19, 2022 in the Onawa Cemetery, Onawa, Iowa with Darren C. E. Goslar, officiating. A recording of the service will be available on the Goslar Funeral Home website with Beverly’s obituary. Arrangements are under the direction of Goslar Funeral Home and Monuments, Onawa, Iowa.
Beverly Jean was born November 29, 1937 in Onawa, Iowa, the daughter of Mark “Leslie” and Georgia (Matthews) Smith. She grew up in Onawa and graduated from Onawa High School in 1955.
Beverly furthered her education at Morningside College and graduated with a Master’s Degree in Education. She worked at Longfellow School for thirty years as a teacher. Beverly enjoyed doing yard work in her yard.
Beverly was a member of the Onawa Methodist Church in Onawa.
Survivors include a niece, Jerrilyn (Brad) Miller; and many cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Leslie and Georgia (Matthews) Smith; brothers, Don Smith and Darrell Smith; and sister-in-law, Betty Smith.
Memorials in Beverly’s memory may be sent to Burgess Hospice, Onawa, Iowa.
