Betty Marie “Granny B.” Bouslaugh, 94, of Whiting, Iowa, passed away Sunday, July 23, 2023, at Burgess Health Center, Onawa, Iowa.
Per Betty’s wishes, cremation has occurred, and no services will be held at this time. Arrangements are under the direction of Goslar Funeral Home and Monuments, Onawa, Iowa.
Betty Marie was born January 31, 1929, in Covington, Indiana, the daughter of Montell and Florence (Bernard) Thompson. She grew up in Illinois and graduated from Villa Grove High School. Betty worked as a telephone operator when she was younger.
Granny B. was a nurses aide for many years at various nursing homes. She raised German Shepards over the years. Betty was of the Christian Faith. She lived twelve years at Center Heights, before moving to the nursing home.
She enjoyed fishing and traveling. Granny B. was a social butterfly that enjoyed parties and Miller Lite tall boys. She loved being around her friends and family.
Survivors include her children, David (Roxanne) Beechy of Onawa, Iowa, Debbie (Archie) Delashmutt of Blencoe, Iowa, and Nancy (Mike) Murphy of Leander, Texas; grandchildren, Mindy Braun, Aaron Beechy, Ryan Oliver, Wade Delashmutt, Cody Beechy, Marie Matthews, Russell Adams, Michael Adams, Jeremy Hunter, Dylan Hunter, and Faith Murphy; many great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Montell and Florence Thompson; sister, Annette Meek; and son, Edward Matthews.
